How to Help

Please help us find a cure for hereditary cancers by donating funds for hereditary cancer research. All funds will either be donated to Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered for hereditary cancer research or to BRCAn't Stop Me to provide support for individuals who have an increased risk of hereditary cancer due to a genetic mutation.

BRCAn't Stop Me

BRCAn't Stop Me is the first collegiate organization in the nation to focus on prevention and early detection of BRCA-related cancers. The group provides a support system for young men and women who carry the BRCA gene mutation, as well as those who have a family history of cancer.

Founded by GVSU alumni Mollie Smith, BRCAn’t Stop Me aims to:

  • raise awareness of the BRCA gene mutation among young adults

  • help affected students become more proactive about their increased risk of cancer

  • support those who have or are affected by the BRCA gene mutation

  • provide information about genetic counseling

Zumba for a Cure
BRCAn't Stop Me's annual fundraiser for hereditary cancer research is Zumba for a Cure. Zumba for a Cure consists of two parts. The first hour consists of multiple guest speakers who discuss the BRCA gene mutation. The second hour involves an hour of Zumba fun to help spread the word about hereditary cancers.
